#queer history babyyyyyy#soooo interesting in a lot of male-dominated spaces you see ‘unconventional’ lifestyles and relationships normalized#like practices matelotage for sailors and pirates#and the idea of bachelor marriages amoungst cowboys#i believe miners also would use the term bachelor marriages#ill make a whole post about how fucking queer the west was soon that was basically my capstone#i say basically bc it actually wasnt but i took that research for my final project in a queer history class more serious than real capstone#like even just the counterculture of tattoos is interesting like tats were like talismans#or a visual of memories or self-expression#its as if……. when you take people out of the constraints of society…….. people accept new ways of thinking and living
